Mo Tanweer

Mo works with a range of corporates, in the public and private sector to promote deeper understanding of economic issues. He works both one-on-one and in group settings as well gives more general audience lectures on a wide array of economic topics from global megatrends to AI to China. These discussions aim to infuse an intellectual curiosity in staff as well as a stronger knowledge base to discuss these challenging but super relevant topics. Formats range from workshops, lectures, to even book clubs! Clients have range from Inigo Insurance to Future Horizons to specific C-suite level individuals…

As a boy who was born on a farm in Pakistan to an illiterate mother, Mo believes that education was the silver bullet that firmly put his life on a completely different trajectory. He has been the beneficiary of many, many kindnesses from teachers and mentors. Too many to name here, but he owes them a great debt of gratitude. In that vein, it is very important to him to ‘pay it forward’ and help the next generation. He is a product of everyone who has been generous to offer him opportunities to excel. Having gone to state school himself, to then studying at the University of Cambridge, to teaching at Eton College and lecturing at the Judge Business School, he is proof that education is the sine qua non of social mobility…

One of Mo’s passions is storytelling. In a world of AI generated auto content, he is able to weave together content that is contextualised to his specific audience, in an engaging and interesting manner.

Recent lectures have included:

  • AI in Education;
  • AI – Friend or Foe?;
  • Global Megatrends; Understanding China;
  • China – soft or hard landing?
  • Is Economics an Art or Science?
  • Changing Labour Markets – from UBI to remote work.

Albert Einstein once said “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious”. Mo believes that it is important to go beyond archaic exam syllabuses and content. The real learning and excitement takes place in the mind and beyond, not in textbooks. Intellectual and academic curiosity is the sine qua non of creating brilliant young minds. Mo focusses on building these skills in schools, amongst both teachers and pupils. He has worked at Berkhamsted School for 5 years as their Academic Enrichment coach and University Advisor. The aim has been to put this philosophy ‘in the water’, and has designed Critical Thinking Accelerators (both 1-day intensive ones and longer 6 weeks ones) for schools such as Dubai College, The Leys School, Stephen Perse School…
