A fast-moving field, we will look at the geopolitical and regulatory frameworks that are defining the next steps for AI. The lecture will ponder: How will different sectors adopt it? What will it mean for jobs and incomes and for nations and global governance? And thus how will it affect global hegemony and who will decide the rules governing it? Will the rise of AI help solve humanity’s problems, or add to them? Will the winners outweigh the losers? How can we ensure AI is used for good and not bad?
