JULIETTE ALIKER (OUNDLE SCHOOL, OXFORD UNIVERSITY)
Mr Tanweer was, by some considerable distance, the best teacher I have ever had. He is extremely meticulous with his teaching, and allows students to engage with economic issues far beyond the limits of the textbook. His lessons are engaging, thought-provoking and very rigorous. I struggled with some of the concepts in the microeconomics section of the course, but Mo was able to explain them in a way that I could understand and vitally, did not make me feel disheartened. Beyond the classroom, Mo helped me with my personal statement for Oxford (where I am now an undergraduate). He also wrote my reference for my application to US universities, where I was accepted into an Ivy League school. Simply put, Mo goes above and beyond to ensure the maximum possible success of each of his students. He is a very inspiring teacher to have.
Mo was a truly inspiring teacher and mentor throughout my university application to Cambridge. I particularly enjoyed his mock interviews as they gave me a representative insight into what the interviews are like, which allowed me attend
the Cambridge interviews with confidence. I benefited from his guidance on what and how to read before the interviews, and he introduced me to advanced Economic topics that I was able to incorporate in both my interviews and personal statement. Thank you for all the guidance and individual attention throughout the application, it
clearly made a huge difference for my application.

FREDDIE MARTIN, (OUNDLE SCHOOL, OXFORD UNIVERSITY)
Mo Tanweer was one of the most passionate and engaging teachers I had during my time at school and played a large role in my decision to study economics at university. In his classroom we were treated as economists rather than merely students, encouraged to explore far beyond the A-level syllabus.
Mo set high standards but gave me the tools and confidence to achieve them, which was fundamental in me gaining an A* at A-level. His help in my Oxford application for PPE was also invaluable, ensuring I felt prepared with thorough mock interviews and further reading guidance. I am incredibly grateful to him for everything he did for me and for going out of his way to ensure that I was the best student that I could be.
Mo is the reason I am going to study Economics at Cambridge. Many are able to teach well, but few have the ability to ignite your passion for the subject; I have never come across a more dedicated teacher who genuinely wants his students to do well, often pushing them well beyond their potential with outstanding results. He focuses on understanding, rather than recall, by breaking down complex issues into easy digestible chunks which enables all students, from the weaker to the more able ones to engage in lively and heated debate, hugely strengthening their
command of Economics.
Combine that with his unparalleled knowledge and commitment to his students, and you have the reason why I achieved an A*. For me his deep passion for the subject has enabled me to achieve things I never thought possible. I am not over exaggerating by saying that he is the best teacher I have ever had.
HARRY LENG (ETON COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY)
OLI WOOD (OUNDLE SCHOOL, CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY)
Mo is the most passionate and dedicated teacher I have ever come across. His extensive knowledge and experience is invaluable, and he ensures that students always fully understand the material, rather than just reciting a textbook. Not only does he explain complex concepts in an intuitive way, he also constantly applies them to real world examples, allowing students to use economics beyond the classroom. His professionalism and enthusiasm is incredible and I cannot recommend him enough as an economics tutor.
Mr Tanweer is quite simply the best teacher that I have ever been taught by. His enthusiasm and dedication is outstanding and he genuinely cares about the progress of his students. The breadth and depth of his knowledge mean that one can learn a great deal from him, and he is an exceptional communicator due to his vast experience in teaching. His attention to detail and rigour is first rate, and he makes sure to explain and clarify everything he teaches. I can guarantee that he will help you to achieve your potential through the hard work and effort that he puts in every day.

ALICE ROCKALL (OUNDLE SCHOOL, OXFORD UNIVERSITY)
Mo Tanweer was a genuinely dedicated and inspiring teacher. He pushed our class well beyond their comfort zones, and focused on ensuring that every single one of us understood, rather than regurgitated. He was rigorous, thorough and engaging, and taught economics in a way that was approachable to every single student. His own knowledge and passion for the subject was infectious- one of the best teachers out there!
One of Mr Tanweer’s greatest pedagogical strengths is his emphasis on contextualizing economic theory in the practical messiness of the real world. He would seamlessly integrate topical news articles into lectures, highlighting both the resonance and dissonance between economic theory and topical economic reality. By doing so, he kept me excited, motivated and engaged. Very, very few other teachers I have encountered have done this with as much ease and success as Mr Tanweer.
What makes Mr Tanweer especially stand out is his enthusiasm for economics; his love for the subject is as infectious as it is unbounded. I spent over two years in Mr Tanweer’s classroom and every single day, without fail, his eyes would light up as he walked us through the world of economics. Mr Tanweer’s passion for economics made subject matter that would otherwise seem dry and uninteresting come off as wondrous and magical. This is a man who lives and breathes economics, whose love for the subject is comparable to that one might have for their first born. I cannot recommend Mr Tanweer highly enough.
ANDY PALANIAPPAN (OUNDLE SCHOOL, BERKELEY UNIVERSITY)
DI BEVAN (OUNDLE SCHOOL, BATH UNI)
Mo is a consummate professional who brings impeccable teaching standards with inspirational and infectious enthusiasm for the subject. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented and committed experts in the educational field, striving for excellence with every pupil. He brought to life complex concepts making them easy to understand with real world applications and examples. I approached economics with trepidation but under Mo’s tutelage I fell in love with the subject and was fortunately able to excel gaining a place to study economics at my chosen university.
Inspiring, motivational, and encouraging! Following almost a decade and a half of education, Mr Tanweer easily stands out as the most talented and passionate teacher I have ever had. I couldn’t recommend him more – he made lessons interesting, relevant and even fun.
FLORA VAN VREDENBURCH (OUNDLE SCHOOL)
OLI ROWSE (ETON COLLEGE, BRISTOL)
Mo is a remarkably good teacher. He has a unique ability to stick to the course whilst also allowing his students to develop their Economics well beyond the parameters of the course. Mo’s lessons are fun and dynamic and not a single one is the same. He has an undying passion for the subject which is hugely contagious. In many of our lessons we had thrilling debates and Mo is exceptional at playing devil’s advocate in order to push one’s arguments to the brink. I feel lucky to have been taught by Mo and I am extremely grateful for the passion he has instilled in me.

Mo has ran our Critical Thinking (for Y13s) and Economics at University (for Y12s) courses for 2 years now and our students love the sessions. The idea behind the CT course is to prepare our students for the rigors of the Oxbridge / Ivy League interview process. Mo is absolutely on point with his delivery, his expertise in this area is clear and the sessions are pitch perfect with plenty of challenge for our very brightest students. The proof is in the pudding and our Oxbridge entry stats have improved since we started the course.
The Y12 course is a university bridging course aimed at students thinking of reading economics at undergraduate level. The content ranges from mathematics of demand and supply functions, indifference curves and consumer preference to game theory and introductory econometrics. Again, pitched just right, students have raved about the course I’m looking forward to more of the same with this year’s Y12 students.
Mo and his team have inspired our sixth formers
to reach for aspirational universities through his optimistic and practical
advice on applying for Oxbridge. His tailored approach gives our learners
the confidence they need to aim high in their choice of university
course. Mo understands how to get the best out of our students and whether
students are successful or not in their final applications they are grateful
for the learning experience which Mo guides them through. He is a true
expert in judging which skills students have to develop most urgently in order
to succeed. He is direct and supportive in his feedback and his honesty
is appreciated by our students. He gives students very specific things to
work on to improve their applications and interview skills. He works with
a variety of students who would never have otherwise applied for top
universities. Mo’s reputation of supporting students has resulted in more
students applying for our sixth form, he is integral to progressing our
students to excellent universities.

Mo worked with two of our Yr13 students in their applications to Cambridge. Both were students with no prior family experience of higher education. He made them confident to engage and push themselves harder than I thought would be possible. He diagnosed their areas for development with precision and speed, producing a bespoke series of interventions that not only improved them enormously in their subject and technical abilities but also gave them huge amounts of confidence. On their return to the classroom I have seen their ambition for themselves and confidence to push themselves in their academic studies grow tremendously.
Mo has encouraged and challenged pupils to follow their academic passions and to aim high. He works with groups of pupils in various groups (aged 14 – 18), runs stimulating critical thinking courses and meets with pupils one to one in intensely academic-focused sessions where he enables students to develop greater academic resilience. Furthermore, he works with teachers across all departments to help them to design increasingly challenging supercurricular programmes of study. He has been fundamental in establishing a more candid culture which enables us to provide constructive criticism to our most able students which helps them to grow and to seek further challenging areas of study. Lastly, he also speaks at parent events to outline how parents and the school can work together to enable pupils to realise their academic potential and dreams.

My teenager was totally confused and uninspired by economics until Mo got on board. He has has really engaged him and we have seen a huge change in my son’s understanding of the subject.
I would thoroughly recommend Mo as a superb A Level Economics tutor. He seems to understand how teenage brains work and is efficient but fair in moving through the topics and keeping my son interested.
My son suffered a dip in his mock exams and hence we were looking for a crash course for my son just before the exam. Someone who could enhance the theory with exam writing techniques and prepare him in a relatively short time. Mo was brilliant in that as he didn’t just download the theories but guided my son on how to write a well reasoned answer. He also helped build his confidence. Mo is reliable, dependable and of course knows his subject very well. Shall highly recommend him especially given there not many good Economics teachers around.

Mo has provided tuition for our son as he re-sits his Economics A Level. We have been very pleased throughout with Mo’s professionalism, strategic approach and in addition with the empathy that he has shown; resulting in our son being able to approach his exams in a confident and informed way, which is all we could ask for. He knows when to push for more and when to encourage. He has in addition provided some excellent revision tools and on-going support, which has been a real point of difference and has added to the level of support felt overall. We would very much like to retain Mo’s services as our son moves forward at degree level in this subject. We would highly recommend his services.
Amazing tutor. Well prepared, makes the topic relevant and learning so much, every lesson. Extremely well prepared. Highly recommend. Thank you so much.

Mo has been a great motivator for my son. He cut through the excuses and got him focused on the task at hand. He is an exceptional teacher. I have no hesitation in recommending him.
Mo has been a fantastic help to my 18 year old son. After being left without an Economics teacher at school due to illness we were extremely worried about our sons A level exam this coming June. Mo has helped motivate him back into his studies after feeling very anxious with regard to his ability to do well. Our son has said that Mo has been a game changer with his tutoring skills. We continue to invest in Mo moving forward. Would highly recommend him. (Alison)
Mo Taweer is a hugely experienced Economics tutor who tutored my daughter through her GCSE Economics. She was badly bullied when she was younger resulting in PTSD which causes her to dissociate when she is stressed, so it is hard getting her to focus and revise effectively. Mo was very understanding, but strict with her and pushed her to achieve well beyond our expectations. She hugely enjoyed her sessions with Mo and is now taking Economics A Level. We have asked Mo to help tutor her through her A Level (Kate)
Mo has very kindly stepped in at very short notice to help my daughter with her end of year 12 exams. He has been incredibly accommodating and flexible with lesson times.
Mo’s methodological approach is both robust and inclusive. In just four sessions, he has provided invaluable feedback and practical pointers on exam technique. My daughter already loves Economics but looks forward to having challenging discussions about difficult concepts which support her learning and progress. The lessons are well structured and not only is Mo thorough, he also ensures complicated content is easy to understand. My daughter feels that Mo is very encouraging and has identified her weak points quickly providing targeted support. She is growing in confidence and knowledge. Mo is an outstanding tutor, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any parent. (S)
Mo is a very knowledgeable tutor for Economics. He taught approx 14 hours to my son and helped him to get Predicted Grade A for A level exam. He is well organised and efficient tutor. He always does his best to make sure the student get the most support they need. Highly recommend him to anyone who needs support with Economics. (Anil)
Mo helped our son tremendously in a very short space of time. His patience and targeted approach made a huge difference.Would not hesitate to recommend Mo.Thank you again! (Daniella)
Mo is a fantastic and enthusiastic tutor, and has been preparing me for my Cambridge economics application. He is clearly incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. He is excellent at explaining complex economic concepts, and perfectly balances teaching and encouraging me to figure out answers myself. He provides detailed, insightful feedback, and in just a short time I have seen both my knowledge and confidence greatly improve. He also frequently suggests extra reading and economics resources, which have been really useful and prove his dedication. I would very highly recommend him. (Teresa)
We were delighted with Mo and can certainly recommend his tutoring skills to anyone interested in his services. His boundless enthusiasm is contagious and his guidance most informative. As a parent of a child looking to set his sights high I feel that Mo’s influence has been invaluable and can strongly recommend him to any prospective students/parents. (Robyn)
Mo’s technical preparation is excellent but what is truly amazing was the intellectual and interpersonal confidence that he instilled in our son. He helped to develop a passion and aptitude for critical thinking, logic, problem solving and people skills which helped improve our son’s ambitions and trajectory. (Parent of 13 years old)
